一篇報導指出，Samsung (三星) (005930-KR) 正計畫在 CES 大展上公佈一款 iPod Touch 的競爭產品。
根據《Samsung Hub》部落格，三星下個月將公佈一款名為 Galaxy Player 的設備，配備 4 吋 LCD 螢幕、1GHz 處理器，並具備 Wi-Fi 上網功能，搭載 Android 2.2 作業系統，並擁有 8GB、16GB 和 32GB 等版本，除此以外，據稱該設備配有前置鏡頭，可使用視訊會議功能。
就像 iPod Touch 與 iPhone 一脈同枝的關係，消費者也可以在 Galaxy Player 上找到許多與 Galaxy S 智慧手機相同的功能，只是前者不具備使用電信業者線路的通話功能。
無法立即取得三星對此消息的回應，該部落格並非三星的關係企業。
毫無疑問，三星冀望藉由 Galaxy S 智慧手機打造 Galaxy Player 的成功。
三星本月初宣布 Galaxy S 智慧手機出貨量在上市僅僅 3 個月的時間內就達到 100 萬支的里程碑。
